With each touch of Percy’s lips to her body, Moira’s senses went deeper into an overload of pleasure. This had to be why humans were always falling in love. Not now. Getting back to the sisterhood and retreating into her old life of watching others live and love just fell quite a bit lower on her priority list. She still would go. This punishment, which was feeling more like a reward at the moment, would end. Tonight she would claim every bit of the human experience she could. Moira would grasp onto all the infinitesimal moments of joy, excitement, pleasure, and pure love.

Someday, when she was back up in the sky, deciding the destiny of others, she would remember her beautiful love and how Percy had so perfectly given his heart, soul, and body up to share it all with her.

Percy looked so deeply into her eyes that she was sure their souls were looking directly at each other. Slowly he unbuttoned the top clasp holding together the shirt he’d given her. “Okay?”

“Okay, okay, okay.” She wanted that barrier between them gone and his lips on her body again. Every inch of this human skin was tight and needy, and she just knew the only way to release that tension was for him to touch her. All of her.

He was being achingly gentle, which was so incredibly sweet, and she understood it was important to him that he had her consent though she didn’t know why. She’d never asked any of the beings whose lives she shaped and molded until they were set on the path to their destinies.

This moment with Percy seemed just as important as anything a Fate would choose for him. If she were an ordinary being, this would be the fate she’d want for herself. Yet no one had ever asked her what she wanted, just like she had never asked anyone what they wanted.

The tightness across her skin sunk inside and squeezed her chest and heart. No one had ever asked.

The sister Fates did what they believed was right. The right path, the right destiny, the right mate was chosen for the right reasons. Or so they all thought.
